vsCode Legato System View

The Legato system view provides a logical view of a Legato System. It provides a way to view systems, apps, components and interfaces in a cohesive system that will be installed onto your target.

The view provides commands to add, remove and modify the definition files in your system. For information on how to add sections to the definition files refer to Definition Files.

Systems tie together all the apps and components within your Legato System.

System | |_ your apps (.adef) | |_ api (.api) | |_ c code (.c) | |_ included apps - apps included from other .sdef (.adef) |_ api (.api)

Add

Add will search your workspace folder and provide a list of .adef or .cdef files to add to your system. Adding an app through the system view will save you time and automatically add any search paths that are needed into your .sdef or .adef.

New

New will add a new application or component based on a simple template and create the starting .cdef and .c files needed to start off an application. It will also automatically add the app into the system (.sdef) and set up any needed search paths.

Adding a new component will create the folders and .cdef file and a start .c file to add in your custom code and logic into the system.

Rename

Once you've selected or created a system, app or component, you can view the .xdef file by clicking on the name of the .sdef and then choosing the Rename option. This will rename the .xdef and update all other .xdef files within your system.

Remove

remove will remove the app or component from your system and any associated references within the .xdefs within your system.

At this time the remove app or component only works with apps/components that have been created with the Legato Plugin for vsCode. We are working to extend the tools to enhance this feature to work with all apps/components.

Warning
This does not remove the app or the component from your workspace directory, if you wish to delete the files, manually delete them through the File Explorer view.
